Erratic Jury

Description

The Erratic Jury is one of the higher beings that is a part of the Court of Chaos. They dwell within the same courtroom as the Volatile Judge and the Chaotic Executioner. Victims brought to the court may have their case reviewed by the Jury, which causes the twelve heads to bicker, shriek and babble to each other. This arguing may sound like gibberish, but it is actually the Erratic Jury debating on the existence and reality of the victim. As they shout and fight, their words can warp and change the accused both mentally and physically. Limbs may stretch or shrink, organs can rearranged, or the molecular make up may be switched around. Changes can be made, and then reverted when one head trumps the other in an argument. During the debating process, the accused is still alive and aware, feeling the changes occurring in their body. But these alterations are not permanent, not until the Erratic Jury decides the verdict.  When the Jury is ready to decide, their single arm will clench its hand in a thumbs up position and then wildly spin on its wrist. The hand can either stop at thumbs up (Innocent) or thumbs down (Guilty). If innocent, the changes are wiped out and the accused is reverted to normal. They are then handed a piece of paper and flung out of the courtroom. If guilty, the changes pop into reality and become permanent, with all the effects, pain and consequences finally hitting the victim. The sad, twisted creature is then carted off to some room in their labyrinth, where they are left in agony and isolation until the court decides to ever bother with them. But some of the altered guilty are taken to another part of the realm, where they become a part of something more sinister.

The Jury's Gauntlet is also used in combat, when fighting the Council of Thought. The Erratic Jury will point at an adversary and then initiate the debate process, which goes just like a trial at the courtroom. Once the alterations and changes are debated, the hand is spun and the fate is decided. Their guilty verdicts are good for crippling soldiers and making warriors into pathetic piles of parts. The issue is that this attack can only go after one being and is lengthy to perform. With that, the Jury is usually used to attack vehicles or ships, where they debate about what shape it is or if it can even fly. Guilty verdicts leaves twisted sculptures of metal, or even yank enemy ships out of the sky.

The Erratic Jury can be killed, and the Jury' Gauntlet picked up and used. This allows the user to alter the reality and existence of a being that they point at with the hand. They merely state the changes and spin for a thumbs up or down. It is not recommended using the Gauntlet for an extended period of time, as the user's mind will eventually find other voices emerging in their thoughts. Prolonged use will fracture the mind into twelve pieces, often leaving the user in a vegetative state. If the Gauntlet is returned to the realm of Chaos, the Erratic Jury will be revived and ready for another trial.

For an RPG, the Jury's Gauntlet would be equipped to the magic user, and will up the power of their spells. The issue is that it will randomly inflict status effects to anyone in the battle any time the user attacks.

They look like they're debating when to kill Sir Robin.
