Description

Many cycles ago, the Gods came upon another dispute. Quarrels between the Gods was not a rare event, as there were many deities and many desires. Arguments over followers, temples and rulings was common in the godly realm, though many did not lead to severe action. But one day, an argument escalated into new territory. The Gods were angered over a series of religious battles that were occurring on one planet. Followers of the Sea Goddess, Ser'Glarus, the Sky God, Bera'Dorm, and the Goddess of the Sun, Sol'Kerel, were fighting over territory, as they lived on a single giant landmass. Borders and lines had been made, but the mortals were starting to push those borders so they could have more land. This resulted in multiple battles and sieges of temples, which caught the attention of the Gods. The Gods involved argued over a course of action, with Ser'Glarus wanting to punish the mortal cities, Bera'Dorm wanting to accept the new acquired territories (Since his followers gained extra land) and Sol'Kerel wishing to punish solely Bera'Dorm's followers for starting the whole debacle. The three Gods argued and fought before Ka'Ran'Koth came up with a different solution. He suggested that the trio go and talk to the Earth duo, the Gods of the Outer and Inner Earth.  Perhaps the brothers would use their powers to split the landmass into three sections, so that each culture would get its fair share with definite borders. Seeing no better solution, the three went before Sto'Kroll (God of Outer Earth) and Wer'Khan (God of Inner Earth) asking for them to shift the landmasses of the planet. The two brothers refused to do so, as they were perfectly content with the setup of the planet, and did not want to mess with it. Their followers were doing just fine, as they were on a coastal island and not involved in the fighting. Shifting the planet would screw with their worshippers and would require lots of energy. The trio demanded them to take action, but the two still refused. When the three went to Ka'Ran'Koth, he merely shrugged his shoulders and told them to figure it out, as it was not his problem. With the refusal and unsolved problem at hand, things were getting quite tense in the realm of the Gods. Until Des'Gamund came along.

Being a God of the Mind, Des'Gamund was a sly and tricky one, always finding loopholes and tricks to meet his needs. He went before the trio and offered his help in solving their dilemma. He would get the two brothers to break up the continents for them, and in return he would be able to ask one favor of each of the other three Gods, and they could not refuse him. Seeing no other option, and knowing that Des'Gamund would have a good plan, the three agreed and let him loose. And Des'Gamund began his tricks.

First he came before Sto'Kroll, telling the God that his brother had betrayed him and was stealing the favor of followers. Unable to believe that his good brother would do such a thing, he sent Des'Gamund away. He went next to Wer'Khan, telling him that his brother was getting jealous of his power, and was starting to take away faith for his own purposes. The worm-like God did not believe Des'Gamund and turned him away. Having planted the warnings and seeds, Des'Gamund went down to the mortal world and went after the Earth followers. Using his mental powers, he mimicked the voices of the brother Gods and turned the followers on themselves, stating how each was betraying the other. The followers began to fight and devastate, as they were misled by the false voices. The fighting got so bad that it caught the attention of the brothers, who came to the mortal plane to see what was going on. What they found was their followers split in two, each side trying to convert the other and steal the temples. Having heard of the warning by Des'Gamund, the two suspected each other as the source of the whole problem. When they confronted each other, denial and accusations caused the two to get angrier at the other. Soon the argument turned into a screaming match, before devolving into a massive brawl between the angered brothers.

The two Gods tore and sliced into each other, with Sto'Kroll cutting into his brother with vibrating claws, and Wer'Khan tearing chunks of flesh out with his massive, digging maw. The battle of theirs sent tremors throughout the planet, as the earth itself was caught up into the fight. Each slice carved a new canyon and crevice, each bite tearing off chunks of land. The brawl cracked the landmasses and caused the tectonic plates to rearrange the whole globe. The massive shift resulted in millions of deaths, as the mortals perished in tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and destructive earthquakes. The peak of the brawl was when Sto'Kroll carved a massive slash through his brother's body which caused his brother to tear off his hind leg in revenge. The massive wounds to each of them sapped their strength, and the two had to pause in battle to recharge. It was in this moment of calm that their minds cleared away the clouds of rage, and truly looked at the situation around them.

What they saw was a ravaged planet, with the landmasses shattered and switched about. Millions of mortals were dead, and many cultures had perished in the brawl. At first they were horrified by their actions, but upon a closer look, they realized they had achieved what the trio had begged of them. They realized that the whole thing had been a setup, and that Des'Gamund had tricked them. Rage was the first emotion, and then shame. The two brothers were ashamed at how easily they were fooled, and how quickly they dove at each other's throats. Their anger turned away from the other Gods and onto themselves. They realized the centuries of peace had made them slow and soft, and capable of being so easily tricked. So instead of attacking or going after the others, the two swore to instead fix themselves. They would be more careful, more watchful, more strict in their duty. And most importantly, they would trust each other and rely on one another so such an event never happened again. To cement this promise, the two Gods chose to keep the massive wounds they received, as a reminder of what weakness can do. Wer'Khan filled in his wound with magma, giving him a burning scar. Sto'Kroll crafted a new leg from rock and stone, instead of regrowing a new one. With that, the two brothers went back to the realm of Gods, all while keeping a close eye on the rest of the rulers. Content, the trio of Gods began to aid their surviving followers and started to divide up the new continents and islands into equal shares.

But this was not the end of the story, as Des'Gamund was not done. Calling in the three favors of the other Gods, he obtained the severed leg of Sto'Kroll, a piece of God flesh no longer anchored to its owner. With it, he plunged into the Underworld and met Ze'Rorick, God of Death. He offered the leg to him as a gift, so that he may warp the flesh into a creature of his choosing. In need of a guardian for his realm, Ze'Rorick took the leg and used his powers to mutate it into an abomination. Des'Gamund aided the God in the beast's creation, and thus, Ker'Boralis was born.

Ker'Boralis is a three-faced monstrosity made out of flesh of the Gods. The front head has a mouth of swiveling, vibrating teeth, which can drill and tear through most materials. The lower chest head can open up to breath out a blast of infernal fire, which can incinerate mortals in an instant. The third head, residing where the foot once was, can spit a paralyzing venom that immobilizes mortals on contact. Combined with brutal strength, quick skittering legs and nasty claws, Ker'Boralis was perfect for guarding the entrance of the Underworld, so no mortal souls could enter or escape. The godly residue in the flesh allows Ker'Boralis to heal his wounds rapidly, though he is still mortal.

Unknown to Ze'Rorick though, Des'Gamund had worked in a special incantation in Ker'Boralis' creation. This spell made Des'Gamund the true owner of the beast, as it would obey him over anyone else. But Ze'Rorick was the second in command, unknowingly, and Des'Gamund left the beast in his care. The God of Death could order it and control it, but when the time came, Des'Gamund could seize control in an instant. Someday the beast would be under his control so he could use it in his plot to overthrow Ka'Ran'Koth and take control of reality. But that is for another time.......

Oh Hey, I actually drew him! You have no idea how many rough sketches I have of this guy. Hopefully the back story makes sense.

The realm of Ka'Ran'Koth really is getting an upgrade! A combination of Cerberus and a chimera!

Finally, a myth that explains tectonics and why the continents "fit" each other!
