Description
Created by the Mad God through dark magic and human victims, the Tormentor is a single entity composed of two bodies. The spiny skeleton is merely the shell, used to hunt prey for the main body, the puppet. To hunt, the shell literally throws itself at its victims, using its razor sharp spikes to shred flesh and bone. It uses its body as a weapon, dancing, running and jumping at prey in order to cut them down. The shell can take damage from weapons, but rapidly heals any wounds on its body. The spines on its body can slice through its own bones, but with accelerated healing, the shell does not seem to care. It moves quite erratically, constantly twitching and dancing about as it searches for prey. The presence of a Tormentor can be given away by its laugh, which sounds like rapid breathing through gritted teeth.
The puppet contains the Tormentor's vital organs and is the only one that can consume food. Vulnerable to damage, the puppet usually hangs back from the hunt, staying far from danger, but close to its guard. The puppets can be found wandering around outside of the battle, humming some odd tune to themselves. Once prey is immobilized, the puppet will come in and gorge itself on blood and flesh via its "true" parasitic mouth. Consuming as much as its skin can hold, the puppet will be unable to move after its meal, having to sit and digest. During this, the shell will remain close by for protection. How nourishment goes from the puppet to shell is unknown.
If the puppet is destroyed, the shell will die along with it, shattering into hundreds of pieces as if it was made of glass.

Had fun redrawing some of my super old guys. This guy came from a time when the Mad God was based more on an apocalyptic scenario and less on religious imagery. He still was a crucified being, but was nothing like the form I created for it in the story. This all changed after running into the statues in the woods, but I still like some of the old creatures I created to inhabit the wasteland. Maybe they are beings who are created when The Mad God seizes control over a realm.
