Weapons of the Fluids

Description

In a land ruled by The Holy Fluids, one is always in danger. Be it ravenous elementals, cruel bandits or horrible monstrosities, one always needs to be armed. With so many cities and so many craftsmen, one has access to a wide arrange of blades and clubs. It is important, though, to keep in mind what foe you wish to fight. Almost every weapon carries the blessing of one of the Holy Fluids, and using that against the wrong foe can be deadly.

1. Life Stealer - A Phlegm based dagger that is used to steal healing fluid from a foe. By slashing at a target, they can draw minute amounts of Phlegm through its grooves and into the hilt. When enough Phlegm is collected, one of the orbs will glow to indicate a charge. The user then can press the end button and jab themselves with the small spines to inject the Phlegm. This is a tool favored by rogues and hunters, who wish to travel light but still have access to healing items.

2. Enigma Club - An odd, ancient weapon that is made of Black Bile infused metal. The weapon is mainly a hilt with an extendable rack on the end. Special metal plates can be slid on these rails to customize a blade of desirable length. In some cases, the weapon has a built in mechanism to allow the user to release the plates while in battle. Those who are well trained can time the release with their swing to launch the top plate out at a foe. Even after cracking them in the face with one of the bits, they still have a weapon they can fight with.

3. Hunter's Baton - While covered in sharp needles, the Hunter's Baton is not truly a weapon. It can be used to cause pain and lash out against foes, but it is mainly used so police and enforcers can collect Blood samples. When caught up in a fight with a criminal, one can strike at them and protect themselves, while the spines draw small portions of Blood. If the bandit escapes or flees, the collected Blood can be put into vials and used for identification and tracking. This weapon sees a lot of uses around prison facilities and areas of commerce. If faced with a large mob or deadly foe, officers are advised to prioritize striking the target, rather than trying to take them down. As long as they have the criminal's Blood, they can send out specialized teams to easily track down the target and neutralize them.

4. Titan Harpoon - A powerful tool used by those who hunt massive beasts or well-armored foes. The tip of the harpoon possess a large barb that sits upon a bed of Yellow Bile and reacting agent. These two fluids are separated by a membrane, which has a spur built next to it. When the weapon is thrust into an enemy, the outer part of the spur will be struck and cause its lower half to rupture the membrane. This will trigger a reaction that will cause a strong, but small, blast. This explosion does indeed damage the foe, but that is not its true purpose. This detonation will propel the bony blade deep into an enemy's hide, drilling through carapaces and armor with ease. After exploding, the tip needs to be replaced with a new head before it can be used again. The harpoon possess an easy mechanism to make swapping out quicker, but it is still time consuming. If caught during the reloading process, or just out of tips, the harpoon possess a sharp metal spike and heavy parts to allow the user to defend themselves. Due to its expendable nature, this weapon is costly to use and should be saved only for large beasts and armored giants. It can be used against man-sized enemies, but it is considered overkill as it will often just blast them in half. It is also discouraged because the blade part will keep going once it has bored through the small target, striking anyone unfortunate enough to be standing behind them.

5. Ornate Bile Rifle - A firearm that utilizes Yellow Bile to fire explosive pellets of the fluid. This type of firearm goes for range and precision over damage and spread. This example possess intricate framework that is absent in the more common forms.

6. Dagger of Sacrilege - An unholy weapon that utilizes the blasphemous power of Alkahest. The pure Alkahest blade can eat through anything it cuts into, even the hilt that holds it. Special mechanisms are built within the hilt to keep the Alkahest from making contact with it. One should be careful with the weapon, as breaking these mechanisms will release the corrosive fluid and ruin the tool. They should also be careful not to accidentally stab themselves as well, as Alkahest has no bias towards who it devours.

7. Fist of the Gods - Made of ancient metal forged with godly Ichor, this weapon is worn on the hands and is used to unleash devastating punches. Its strange shape and inhuman anatomy serves as a reminder of our place in this world.

8. Harvest Auger  - A popular tool for Vampires and other blood drinkers. The sharp spines within the sickle's hook can dig in and drain away blood at a frightening pace. It can be used on a victim's limbs, but the prime target is the neck. Vampiric communities use this tool on prisoners as the primary way to harvest blood.

9. Primal Blade - Okay, seriously, this is just some ghoul's arm that has been dried and wrapped! This isn't even a weapon! You can't just stick a handle and spike on it and call it a sword! Who buys this crap!?

10. Staff of the Observant - A staff to aid priests and summoners in casting, as well as ceremony. It is said that connecting one's mind to the staff allows them to see the world with new eyes. Beneficial to warrior priests who need to be wary about their surroundings during battle. Unfortunately this staff has been used for other things and is banned around many public facilities.

11. Golden Crown - An Ichor based weapon, the Golden Crown is a godly club that strikes so hard it will make your teeth rattle.

12. Bile Grenade - This perishable weapon uses volatile Yellow Bile and reacting agent to create a powerful blast. One simply needs to pull the pin, throw it at a target and, hopefully, get out of the way.

13. Crude Gullet - For those not specialized in the ways of Phlegm, one can go about healing in a cruder manner. The healing Phlegm that is spewed from its gut is a much lower grade than others, but its wide spray can hit more allies, which can be crucial in a chaotic battle.

14. Brain Bomb - The Brain Bomb was originally designed to combat ghoul infestations and other Yellow Bile based foes. The cracked outer casing is not only meant to keep the bomb intact until use, but also to break apart into shrapnel as it detonates. Interestingly enough, they have also been used as healing items in desperate situations. Due to the small healing effect of crude Phlegm, fighters who are low on medicinal supplies and are trapped in deadly situations have detonated these bombs for a last ditch heal. Since the Phlegm is crude and the blast creates shrapnel, it is not advised to use them as healing items, but they can work when all hope is lost. Thus they also go by the name "Panic Button."

15. Leech's Tongue - A spear created by the harvested body of a Blood Elemental. This weapon is good for long range stabbing and siphoning. The weapon can be unwieldy at moments, though, as the flow of Blood triggers a reaction from the elemental's corpse. Accounts of the spear squirming and jerking about as it feeds are well known.

16. Maw Blade- A primitive, but effective, weapon, the Maw Blade is perfect for those who seek to cripple foes. This weapon is not meant to slice through victims like a sword, but rather is used in a swing and pull motion to rip open skin and flesh. Well executed strikes with this saw-like tool can leave targets with horrible wounds that cause massive fluid loss.

17. Second Sentinel - A weapon made out of a small Golem, the Second Sentinel uses the Golem's abilities to manifest a blade out of pure Black Bile. When inactive (or asleep) the blade is gone, and the weapon can be used like a simple dagger. Due to the fluid nature of the sword and the abilities of the Golem, this weapon can slightly change its shape to maximize damage or get around armor. This weapon is used by those who guard the sacred temples of the Humors, and thus their name was born.

18. Mind Crusher - This cruel mace dejects all healing capabilities of Phlegm and instead focuses solely on pain and fear. The needles that emerge from the organic structure are barbed and will dig into foes. Within them flows a venomous form of Phlegm that tricks the body's repair function. Rather than reacting to the wounded areas, this Phlegm causes the system to believe the whole body is damaged and in need of repair. The resulting mess is quite painful and mentally debilitating as one's body panics over non existing wounds. These barbs can tear free from the weapon, allowing them to keep up the flow of venomous Phlegm. Those lost in battle will grow back over time, slowly sliding out from the folds.

19. Howling Pillar - Formed of flesh and maws, the Howling Pillar's horrid cries frighten opponents and puts enemies on edge. Either that, or they are howling because someone keeps smashing them into things. Just saying...

20. Blade of Chaos - Covered in razor sharp thorns and edges, the Blade of Chaos is a dangerous weapon to anyone in its vicinity. Those who wield this bizarre blade have an equal chance of hurting themselves as they do their enemies.

21. Bi-Blade - A rare and complex sword, the Bi-Blade harnesses the power of both Biles in battle. Its duel typing allows the user to compensate for whatever weaknesses one of its edges has.

22. The Devil's Lance - This weapon is banned from nearly every city and possession of it can lead to immediate execution if found near a holy site. Since it uses the power of Alkahest, it is seen as extremely dangerous and rightly so. With an Alkahest tip, it is capable of spearing through any mortal material. Due to the sheer amount of machinery and devices needed to harness this corrosive fluid, this lance is quite cumbersome and heavy. Unsurprisingly, there are more Holy Fluids used to make this weapon function than there is Alkahest.

23. Night Wave - A large hammer that contains hefty amounts of Black Bile. When the hammer is slammed to the ground, it releases a wave of Black Bile from its head. The rolling wave is used to bowl down those who have dodged from the initial strike, and can hit far away targets if the hammer is struck with enough force.

Got bored one day and decided to design some weapons for Fall of Ichor. What swords and tools would a society use if they relied on the Four Humors? Well here they are!

What could I use the Staff of the Observant for? Oh look, the woman's restroom.
